The Officiating Program educates, assists and develops officials so they can support the sport of BMX in key roles such as scoring, race commissaire, staging, gate starter, finish line judges and other roles.
Officials play a critical part in BMX, with those that volunteer for these roles directly supporting rider participation through officiating during training sessions, skills development days and competitions.
As a member of the BMXNT community, you are encouraged to get involved as an official. You will be supported by BMX Australia's easily understood officials pathway, which has a transparent framework to equip you with the knowledge required to perform your role.
Officiating also provides each individual the opportunity to learn and develop in the role, and could take you from a local club night all the way to a role at international competitions governed by the UCI.
There are four levels of Official accreditation, click on the links below to find out more about each one.
Level 1 Officials: For members who would like to officiate at BMXA club racing and assist at training nights and other club activities.
Level 2 Officials: For Level 1 Officials who wish to officiate at regional, zone and state level events.
Level 3 Officials: For Level 2 Officials who wish to officiate at National Series and National Championships. This is an advanced course and candidates must be 18-years of age and have a minimum of two years experience as a Level 2 Official.
Elite National Commissaire: The ENC Course is for current Level 2 and Level 3 Officials who wish to officiate at national and international events within Australia. Application and attendance is subject to demonstration of a high level of commitment and involvement in the BMXA Officials pathway.
